York IE Hires New Advisory Services Specialist: Caroline Hoffer

My interest in marketing can be traced all the way back to my junior year of high school. In my English and literature class, we had a lesson on rhetoric, specifically in relation to marketing. It was the first time I had been exposed to the behind the scenes of marketing campaigns. I was fascinated by the attention to detail given to understanding language and human nature and how that intersects with expressing company values through messaging. I soon realized marketing was more than just Super Bowl commercials!

After taking that class, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in marketing in hopes of being able to connect and form relationships with people, provide them with solutions that will make their lives a little bit easier and gain a deeper understanding of language and human nature. York IE provides me with the opportunity to achieve all of these goals and more.

During the spring of my sophomore year of college, I was introduced to fellow Providence College alumnus Joe Raczka and the York IE team, who explained the company’s mission and dedication to supporting and advising startups. But I soon realized the company is much more than that. Everybody I met that day had such a palpable passion for helping others reach their full potential. I was immediately drawn to the excitement that permeated the office.

I was fortunate enough to intern with York IE the past two summers, and it’s safe to say that both summers provided me with different experiences and challenges. I began my first internship in 2020 during the time of Tiger King, family walks and the rise of Zoom! Despite all of our interactions being over Zoom, I still felt welcomed into the team with open arms. Adam Coughlin and Kate Campbell not only helped me adapt to virtual corporate life, but they also continuously pushed me to expand my knowledge of advisory services and client relationships.

Interning with York IE last summer allowed me to build off of the knowledge I had previously gained. Having a little more experience under my belt, I was able to challenge myself to think creatively and grow a deeper understanding of startup culture. And I even had the opportunity to finally work in the office!

After graduating this past May, I was excited to begin my career at York IE.  I have been lucky enough to see how much the company has grown over the past few years. The team that once fit on one Zoom screen has grown into a powerhouse of talent and experience that I am excited to be a part of and learn from. York IE continues to redefine how startups are built and achieve sustainable growth. I am thrilled to be a part of a team that truly cares about what they do and the people they do it with.
