He is mainly commenting after Kwarteng has made an early return from his trip to Washington as a policy reset seems imminent. There is no word on the timing for such an announcement though, with the latest rumours in Westminster also not giving much away before the weekend – at least for now.

As CX flies home from Washington DC early, I’m told by a govt source that no announcements are expected today on the mini-Budget. Let’s see (CX wasn’t due to fly back last night either)
