UFC Athletes to Receive Bitcoin Bonus

Crypto.com, a prominent cryptocurrency trading platform, has recently announced a collaboration with UFC to pay bonuses to UFC athletes through Bitcoin, the world’s most valuable digital currency. Both companies have created new Fight Night Bonuses to reward UFC fighters.

Crypto.com, which is the official cryptocurrency platform partner of UFC, mentioned that the ‘Fan Bonus of the Night’ will feature three BTC bonuses. The mentioned bonuses will be awarded to the top 3 fighters.

The fighter in 1st place will receive $30,000; for second place, $20,000 worth of Bitcoin will be awarded; and $10,000 will be given to the fighter in 3rd place.

“Crypto.com has been an official UFC partner for less than a year, and I’m telling you they are already one of the best partners we’ve ever had,” said UFC President, Dana White. “They’re constantly coming up with new ideas about how we can work together to connect with the fans. This new Fan Bonus of the Night is an awesome way to get fans more engaged in our events while rewarding the fighters for performances.”

Last year, UFC and Crypto.com inked a massive partnership deal. The crypto trading platform became UFC’s first-ever global Official Fight Kit Partner.

Popularity of Bitcoin

The popularity of Bitcoin among global athletes is surging amid a sharp rise in the price of the emerging asset. In December 2020, Russell Okung became the first player in the NFL to receive a portion of his salary in BTC.

According to Steven Kalifowitz, the Chief Marketing Officer of Crypto.com, the recent partnership between UFC and Crypto.com will increase fan engagement. “Central to our partnership with UFC is creating the most unique and compelling ways for fans to connect with the sport and their favorite athletes. We are thrilled for this next step in our partnership with UFC and excited to build even more innovative and engaging experiences as our partnership continues,” Kalifowitz said.
