Bayern, Germany-based Personio, a developer of HR management and recruiting platform for SMEs and startups, announced on Thursday that it has appointed Koen Stam as Head of Benelux, effective September 1, 2022, to strengthen and grow Personio’s business.

Koen Stam will focus on the core strategy for Benelux. He will work closely with Lars Boom, now International Sales Manager, who will focus on expanding the footprint for the larger SMB Mid Market customer segment.

Koen Stam, Head of Benelux, Personio, says, “I’m excited to join Personio, one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups. What impressed me is their clear vision and mission to help HR teams reduce the time spent on manual tasks, giving them more space for people and strategy. It also appeals to me that people are central to Personio’s DNA. This is not only reflected in the product they have built but also in the company culture, which I was able to experience firsthand during my conversations with Personio. It is, therefore, a logical choice for me to support SMEs in Benelux to be successful and grow together with the local team.”

Koen Stam was previously responsible for expanding the local team as Country Manager Netherlands at Teamleader. He has also held senior positions at MessageBird and 24sessions, among others.

He adds, “We want to be closer to our customers and gain more insights into the regional HR challenges SMEs face. Our local events such as the upcoming HUG on Tour, our HR dinners, and our boat trips with customers through the canals of Amsterdam are a great opportunity to do so.”

Personio claims that since its launch in Amsterdam in September 2021, the number of SMEs in Benelux using Personio’s integrated HR platform has doubled.

Stam adds, “Although or precisely because Personio opened its Benelux office in the middle of the corona crisis, the company was able to demonstrate a clear demand for HR software and automation of people processes in the market. During that time, many customers opted for our solutions, such as Dopper and SkinVision. Now is the time to build on that success and further conquer the market.”

Personio says that using technology to streamline administrative tasks gives the HR team more room for strategic thinking. As a result, HR teams can focus more on improving the employee experience, helping people evolve and stay with the company longer.

“Virtually all sectors are already experiencing massive staff shortages, which are holding back business results and growth. Companies must therefore do everything they can to find and retain their talent. The HR team plays an essential role in this. At the same time, companies need to become more efficient, especially in difficult times. More efficiency, in turn, leads to a better employee experience, contributing to talent retention. Automated HR processes are essential here.” Stam adds.
