I’m still trying to figure out the benefits. I suppose if there’s rush hour traffic and you need your insulin NOW, that might make sense. I have a small drone that works pretty well even in automated mode. It cost ~$700, costs a few cents to charge, can’t really carry much of a payload. I imagine if Amazon buys 10,000 of them, they’d get a deal on the price. But you’d need some kind of engage-able grabber and probably at least a few pilots to take care of the more dangerous flying through neighborhoods with trees. IDK, maybe it will work.

The advantage I see is if Amazon gets this working reasonably well, they will have the infrastructure to expand to flying taxis for work commutes. That is something I’d happily pay for.
