WASHINGTON (Reuters) -America has charged two Russian nationals within the hack of collapsed cryptocurrency alternate Mt. Gox, one of many world’s earliest, largest and most generally publicized alleged bitcoin heists.

The division in an announcement stated Alexey Bilyuchenko, 43, and Aleksandr Verner, 29, had been charged with conspiring to launder roughly 647,000 bitcoins from their hack of Mt. Gox, which collapsed in 2014 after shedding what was then value about half a billion {dollars} in cryptocurrency.

The Division of Justice stated Bilyuchenko can be charged with conspiring with Vinnik to function BTC-e from 2011 to 2017.
