Googling “russia ruble gold standard” brings up a lot of results, none are great. But our media has an interest in not reporting anything potentially pro Russian.
What I read earlier on this is that the ruble equivalent they are pegging gold at is actually lower than the price gold is currently sitting at.
I’ve only ever read conspiracy theories about China switching to a gold standard. Only evidence I’ve seen presented was that China has been purchasing a lot of gold the last few years. But they have been loading up on various commodities.
