Parent sues Facebook alleging that excessive use of the platform caused her teenage daughter contributed to mental health problems : technology

Well, I didn’t get a phone (flip phone) till senior year. Computer time locked me out at 2hrs a day. I didn’t really do Facebook or phones until college, and never got into social media beyond family connections.

Giving kids the tools and hoping they don’t use them is a little ridiculous. If it’s designed to be addictive….then don’t give it to them in the first place. They make basic phones, and laptops can still be restricted and controlled by admins.

The social benefits of having “adequate” social media exposure really don’t seem worth the well documented, constantly expanding, increasingly serious realities of social media exposure.
