JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The top of Israel’s primary public sector union mentioned on Monday he would meet with different union officers to debate the potential of declaring a basic strike after parliament ratified a key component in a controversial judicial overhaul plan.
Arnon Bar-David, chairman of the Histadrut labour federation, has been attempting to mediate a compromise between the federal government and opposition. The variations had been minor however mediation efforts failed as a result of political whims, he mentioned.
“From this second on, any unilateral progress within the reform may have critical penalties … Both issues will progress with broad settlement or they won’t progress in any respect,” mentioned Bar-David.
Bar-David mentioned he would meet with Histadrut officers to declare a “basic labor dispute within the financial system,” and can “activate it if essential till an entire shutdown is achieved.”
