IndiGo Delhi-Srinagar Flight Info: An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Srinagar encountered a sudden hailstorm mid-air on Wednesday evening, triggering panic amongst passengers. Flight 6E 2142 landed safely at Srinagar airport after following customary emergency protocols, the airline confirmed in a press launch.

“IndiGo flight 6E 2142 from Delhi to Srinagar on May 21, 2025, navigated a sudden hailstorm and landed safely at Srinagar Worldwide Airport. All prospects have been attended to upon landing and no accidents have been reported. The airplane is at current current course of necessary inspection and maintenance in Srinagar and may resume operations as quickly as all clearances have been secured,” the airline said on Thursday.

“We sincerely thank our prospects for his or her cooperation in guaranteeing the protected completion of this flight. As always, the safety of our prospects and crew stays our highest priority,” it added.

Storms disrupt Delhi air guests

The incident took place as a sudden spell of rain and hailstorms lashed Delhi-NCR, derailing flight schedules at Indira Gandhi Worldwide Airport. Various dwelling and worldwide flights have been each positioned on keep or diverted as a consequence of poor visibility and extreme wind speeds.

In a publish on X, every Air India and Delhi Airport had issued advisories cautioning passengers about potential delays. “Rain and thunderstorms may disrupt flights to/from Delhi this evening,” Air India posted.

“Due to inclement local weather conditions and thunderstorms, flight operations may be impacted at Delhi airport. Our on-ground teams are diligently working with all the stakeholders to verify a seamless and surroundings pleasant passenger experience. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information,” Delhi Airport said.

‘Near demise experience’ 

Among the many many passengers was Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Sagarika Ghose, who referred to as it a “near demise experience.” She was part of a five-member TMC delegation, along with Derek O’Brien, Nadimul Haque, Manas Bhunia, and Mamata Thakur, en path to Srinagar.

“It was a near demise experience. I assumed my life was over. People have been screaming, praying and panicking,” Ghose said, PTI reported.

“Hats off to the pilot who launched us through that. After we landed we observed the nostril of the plane had blown up,” she added, noting that the delegation personally thanked the pilot upon landing.
