Startup one-liner:
The easiest way to collect content and files from your clients
Problem the startup solves:
Launching websites and marketing projects on time is a difficult task when you rely on clients sending content and documents. Content gets lost in emails, isn’t accessible to the whole team or is sent in the wrong format. CollectContent fixes the back and forth between clients. You can define the content and files you need, making sure you receive the content in the format you need them to complete your projects on time.
Progress and current status:
The initial version of CollectContent was built in 2 weeks and soft launched to a group of beta testers. Since then we’ve been building more features based on the feedback received. CollectContent is now publicly available and we’ve begun our marketing effort, with over 20 new users in the first week of launch.
What is a crazy story about the startup?:
I first thought about this issue over 10 years ago. But working in a busy agency environment I never found the time to fix the problem. Fast forward to 2022 and I’m now a freelance web developer, with my first project I hit this problem as the client provided content that was completely unusable – images too small and content documents which didn’t match the designs. So that spurred me on to build the initial version of CollectContent in a crazy 2 weeks of coding day and night.
What is a company the startup looks up to, and why?:
I’ve always looked up to Airtable. They entered a market where Excel and Google Sheets was so dominant, it seemed unlikely a new entry would make any headway. But they’ve built a truly innovative product and one that’s really accessible to all types of users.
The company in four years will be…
We’re not aiming for global dominance! We want to build a company that’s sustainable and profitable from day one. In 4 years, I’d like the company to have grown to the point where we have a small team building new ways to manage and collect content and other tools to help busy agency owners.
