Foxconn has around 200,000 workers at its Zhengzhou complex. To avoid lockdown restrictions some of the workers have escaped the facility and are heading to their home towns.
Foxconn says it would not stop workers from leaving.
Zhengzhou, capital of central Henan province, is reporting a rising wave of locally transmitted COVID-19 cases.
