With the release of Version 2.8 comes Genshin Impact’s Summer 2022 event. Titled “Summertime Odyssey,” this brand new event takes us back to a limited-time region first introduced back in Version 1.6: the Golden Apple Archipelago. Let’s review how to get to the Golden Apple Archipelago in this year’s Summertime Odyssey event.

How to unlock the Golden Apple Archipelago
The Golden Apple Archipelago is back for this year’s Summertime Odyssey event. The limited event region is reachable from July 15 to August 24, 2022.

To actually get there for the first time, you must qualify for the Summertime Odyssey event. Yes, there are requirements for the summer event.

After starting the event, clear The Golden Apple Vacation Returns! to unlock the limited-time region.
How to reach Adventure Rank 32 (AR32)

In order to qualify for the Summertime Odyssey event, you must be at least AR32. To do this will inevitably take some time, but here are a few tips for leveling up quickly in Genshin Impact:
- Clear all available Archon Quests
- Clear all available World Quests
- Do all four Daily Commissions every day
- Clearing Commissions allows you to obtain Story Keys; use these to unlock and clear all available Story Quests
- Defeat all available Weekly Bosses and claim the rewards with Resin
How to unlock Mona’s Story Quest
As mentioned earlier, you can actually bypass the requirement to clear Mona‘s Story Quest with the Quick Start button on the event. That said, clearing Mona’s Story Quest will greatly enhance the narrative in Summertime Odyssey—particularly Mona’s arc.
To unlock Mona’s Story Quest, you must collect (and use) a Story Key. Launch Genshin Impact on your device, then open the Quests menu.

Next, go to Story Quests.

Within the Story Quest menu, you will be able to see your current Story Key total in the top right. You can only have three at once.
You must complete eight Daily Commissions to claim a Story Key. Once you’ve done that, click the Claim button in the bottom right to claim that Story Key.

Your Story Key total should increase by one in the top right. Use that Story Key to unlock Mona’s Story Quest.

How to get to the Golden Apple Archipelago (PC/Mobile/PlayStation)
Once you leave the Golden Apple Archipelago, you can always fast travel back there. Furthermore, if you left in the middle of a quest, the game will save your progress and you can continue that quest line when you return.
Step 1
Launch Genshin Impact on your device of choice. When you’re in-game, use the World Map button to open your map.

Step 2
Within the World Map, press the Primogem-shaped Regions button.

From the options available, select Golden Apple Archipelago.

Use the available Teleport Waypoints you’ve unlocked to fast travel there.

This region is only available for the duration of the summer event. When the Summer 2022 event has concluded, it will not appear on your World Map.
