Offshore leasing program brings new momentum for Gulf of America/Gulf of Mexico



The Nationwide Ocean Industries Affiliation issued an announcement after U.S. Secretary of the Inside Doug Burgum introduced the following steps in a brand new offshore oil and gasoline leasing program.

NOIA President Erik Milito acknowledged: 

“We applaud Secretary Burgum and the administration for taking decisive motion to launch the eleventh Nationwide Outer Continental Shelf Oil & Fuel Leasing Program—a important step towards restoring long-term certainty and stability for the Gulf of America’s offshore power sector.

“The Gulf of America—and the broader American offshore—performs an important function in powering the nation, contributing practically $33 billion to the U.S. financial system every year, supporting near 400,000 jobs, and reinforcing our power safety. A sturdy leasing program ensures continued funding, innovation, and international management in protected, accountable offshore power manufacturing.
